Arizona Pecan and Date Pie

3 tablespoons of butter or margarine
1/3 cup of sugar
3 eggs
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of all purpose flour
1 cup of dark corn syrup
12 dates, pitted and cut into pieces
3/4 cup of chopped pecans
Pastry for 1 crust 9 inch pie, unbaked 

Cream the butter with sugar. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Beat in the salt and vanilla. Add the flour and blend well. Add the corn syrup. Fold in the dates and pecans. Pour into pastry lined 9 inch pie pan. Bake in a preheated slow oven at 325ºF. for 45 minutes or until set. Makes 6 servings
