| Old Fashioned Pound Cake 2 cups of butter 3 1/2 cups of sugar 10 eggs 4 cups of flour 1 teaspoon of vanilla Lemon glaze In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add flour, blend well. Pour batter into a greased 10inch tube pan. Bake in a preheated 300ºF. oven for 2 hours or until a wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool in a pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely. Drizzle the Lemon Glaze over the top. |
